Yeah I think multiple hosts just makes it complicated. I stick to one, maybe two if there is a free offer or something

I honestly don't see the point, but maybe there's something I'm missing. I have a reseller account on a host I'm very happy with and have been with for over 5 years. I have unlimited add-on domains. It would always be cheaper for me to increase my hosting package with this same host than to purchase hosting somewhere else.

I used to use multiple hosts before I started my own company, as some hosts offer features that the other does not... But it is generally better to just stick to the one host as it is much easier to run all of your sites from one CPanel...

If you have multiple hosts, you also can compare their level of service and hardware performance. In addition to having redundancy, you will have better confidence that you are getting a good deal.

I stick with one host because staying loyal with your host can sometimes come with great advantages such as them giving you discounts and etc. I also like to stay organized and keep things simple instead of having emails with different account names and having to login to different addresses. It is true that if the host goes down your whole network will suffer, but that's why you need to find a good reliable host in the first place.

Like mentioned above; I only ever use multiple hosts to backup important data.

If you want to improve search engine position by linking from your sites to your other site, it's not good to use the same IP adress, so you may use multiple host in this case

As a host, I wish clients would only use one host, but looking at it objectively, if you can use multiple hosts, it certainly makes sense to do so. If you are going to use one host though, I definitely recommend doing your home work. The barrier of entry to becoming a host is so minimal (maybe even non-existent) that anyone can come and go with ease. If you're in the USA, one of the easiest methods to gain some confidence in them would be to check the secretary of state to see if they're registered with the state.

I use one host, and have been for the past 6 years. I can't legally recommend him, but I love that he's local and replies to queries almost instantly. I was one of his earliest clients, and many, many people have since joined forces with him since I did.

His prices are really competitive, he gives excellent, fast service, and will let me in advance know if he's ever doing maintenance, so I can inform my 100+ clients too. This has only happened about half a dozen times since I have been with him.

I am in no way affiliated with him.

If you are lucky enough to find someone as good as this, why would you go anywhere else?
