Quality vs. Quantity

What do think produces better results: quality of the content or quantity? It is considered that such huge quantity need to be of decent quality.

I would say quality is better than quantity when it comes to content. What is the use if the content is not useful.

Agree with weblover ... though in this ridiculously complicated world in which we live. That answer can change depending upon someone's goals.

Quality content = Actually useful to human visitors. Makes the site more valuable and useful to the actual userbase. And supplies them with an incentive to use it/participate and return.

Quantity = May be noticed and indexed by search engine crawlers. Therefore get indexed more, ... or even assigned a higher SERP position. Even though its trash in/trash out.

Best of both worlds ? Quality + quantity = Houstan all lights are green .... we are cleared for take off. Roger that, see your website in outer$pace.

In the long run? quality. In the short term? quantity. People will keep coming back for quality. They will throw the quantity away and not come back.

in marketing there is one rule: the less - the more, it means that firstly we need to pay attention to the quality.

If you want better and lasting results give more importance to quality. Anything your publish in the internet with substance will attract more visitors giving you tons of traffic and better conversion rate.

Quality is more important for several different reasons, especially for a blog or news website. However, you need to be producing quality constantly. I remember when I first started out my football blog I posted more than 5 articles a day with little detail, this gained little hits and eventually I began to post less but with more detail and as a result I gained loyal visitors who began to come back. With quality content you keep readers interested and will return (which should be your primary target).

So you really should aim for quality over quantity, but also producing a constant amount of quality work will help search engine spiders to index your pages. I recommend you use digg as well when submitting articles to promote your articles.

Well explained, Gatt, I can't agree more with it. There should be perfect balance between quality and quantity. It doesn't help much to add a new quality post on you blog once a year.

My vote also goes to quality.

Reason: Let's say you have a blog related to web design tutorials. A user searches for tuts, he finds your blog. He reads your tutorials, if he likes them, he'll give 'em a try. He will surely subscribe to your blog (or bookmark it) if he finds your tutorials very useful. Result: You now have a loyal visitor.

I agree with the majority, and say quality over quantity. I have been on far too many sites over the years that have a ton of content, but it is poorly written. I would much rather see a site with just a little content, but it be of some quality.
