vB has way more and better features and the skins for it tend to be more beautiful

I'm going to vote vBulletin simply because I prefer the better features. However, most people think vBulletin is a beautiful piece of coding. As a programmer who has a LOT of experience with vBulletin and is concurrently learning business-oriented programming... I'm going to flat out say it...

vBulletin is an awesome program on the front-end, but the back end is very duct-taped together and uses very poor coding practice.

I'll admit the features rock, it's very skinnable (I love template conditionals!), the admin section is amazing, and it's easy to integrate with.

Regards,
Patrick

Not sure what you mean by that technically, vBulletin is fast and efficient I see nothing wrong with it.

Agreed. Very bad developing work. You know, I don't know how they pulled it off with such bad coding, but I guess they are right when they say "looks count".

Yep, vB's coding is very ugly - IPB is very nicely made.

I vote for Vb

I believe it's better because it looks more attractive. I also don't like what I pay for, an earlier version being distributed free!
