Help! Windows isn't booting!

Okay, yesterday I was rebooting my computer, and for some unknown reason, a sort of error message came up, basically stating that Windows did not start, would you like to... start in safe mode, start with last features that worked, and just start Windows. I've tried all of the options, and (with some minor differences with safe mode), they all came to the same conclusion. Windows would load, but as soon as it finished, the computer would automatically turn off and I would have to go through the whole process again.

Any suggestions?

Some of your system file might be corrupted. What version of Windows you are using? If you are running Windows XP, try to run the setup again from the CD and select repair.

Windows XP Media Center Edition. I thought of running the repair, but I don't have a disk.

I do however, have a recovery partition with all of the Windows files on it. Do you know how to use that to repair Windows?

I have a partition recovery disk that restarts windows. I saw there was also a feature to repair Windows too, and I think thats what you are looking for. Basically, you have to go into the BIOS and set the boot order to be CD-ROM first if it already isn't. Then put in the CD-ROM and restart. It will read from the CD instead of your hard drive. Then it will start Windows recovery. From here you have a DOS menu and you can choose from there whether to do a repair, or a clean install.

According to my BIOS, all I can do with the recovery partition is basically erase all of the files and make the computer as it was when it was purchased. I REALLY don't want to do that. I have some summer homework assignments on there and I can't do them again.

Take it into Data Doctors or Best Buy and get data recovery then reformat. One of your only options. :\

I tried that, but safe mode won't even boot.
