  Old  DepthVision GFX Community

Hmm...well I've managed to creat a nice little graphic community back at DepthVision. This is version2 of the community with loads more feature than before. To list some would be:

Toplist - Well the name says it all which I'd appreciate everyone helping it grow by submitting to it. Takes 2 mins and you can manage up to 5 sites on 1 account.

Awards - I admit fairly new but not the judges. They're pretty much pros who volunteered to do this and I must say...their excited to do this but since we're in early stages submission is LOW. Check the awards page out and see judges profile. Again feel free to submit.

Shop - this is explained in another tread. Check Here for More
Those 3 are the main features but then there's more like forum, tutorials, downloads and gallery.

Feel free to comment in ways to improve, what u think , etc.

Thanks.

The site is too "busy", there is too much going on in there.

The header looks great but the top nav links are really hard to read.

The site of the month and art of the month are really hard to read too.

I love the gui but tone down on the tech stuff, you'll only get kiddies joining your community.

I really like the layout of the site, yet it takes a while to load for a dial-up user.

I like the header but thats about it. Don't anti-aliase pixel text. Maybe just try a 2 colour gradient? Rather then the 3 colour one (grey-white-grey) which you have around the template.

Not too keen on the font you used for 'About, live chat, contact', also it would be better if you used actaul text for 'site of the month' and 'art of the month' instead of images.

The site is very busy as already mentioned.

The header style looks like a tutorial to me and is overdone. I find the navigation extremly hard to read/get to grips with, maybe it's just me. The choice of font for the "member login" etc is also hard to read, bad spacing and appears blurred.

There is just too much going on, affiliate buttons, news, site of the week, art of the week, shoutbox....too much for me to take in, my eyes don't know where to look! I think you need to bring another colour into the design, it's a little drab at the moment.

The actual forum isn't so bad, it's a little light (terms of colours) but it's reasonably attractive and simple enough. I hate round icons, try and finish up the board statistics icons to complete the look.

The site loads a little slow for me, not surprising though....that index page is loaded.

By "tech stuff" I mean the angular objects you have throughout the site, the white stroked, grey shadowed stuff.

Guys, thanks alot. You've been very helpful. I can't change anything about the header nor the tech stuff cuz I just kinda like it that way. Doesn't mean you're wrong or my choice sucks but that we're all individuals.

However, I'll try as hard as possible to work on the other suggestions like the "business" like most of you suggested.

Thanks again guys. If i make any remarkable change in "business" I'll let yall know so i can get more feedback.
