Old  Left align or centered design?

In your opinion what is the best way to design a website, left align or centered?

I think it's better to design sites centered, that way on larger resolutions it doesn't look so bare on the right hand side.

Is there a specific use for left aligned designs or a reason why you would choose it over a centered version?

I always create centered because i think it looks much better, although left aligned can look nice when the site stretches into the background, example : http://4design.tv/

I agree, Aligning centre usually looks the best but when aligned left but continous like 4design.tv or dinix.com so it looks fluid is also a great bet
ALl depends on what your looking for.

I usually center align but sometimes I like to go wild and align to the left

Aligning to the centre works well in larger browsers. I usually align to the centre, I have aligned to the right once...

I think both works well. It just depends on the designers and clients preference to me. I like designs of both ways.

Left and centered design are quite common in the web design. Left aligned would be better if you have large chunk of content on your website, because it makes the content more readable and less ragged as compared to a centered or right aligned text block.

I like both, depends on the style of the site, etc. It depends on what type of site it is in my opinion.

Center, this makes use of space better in most cases. Unless you have specific reasons to go left (most corporate sites are lefties)
