RankPanel.com - Google Ranking Tool
Today I'm proud to announce to you the release of my latest projects, www.rankpanel.com.
With this little tool, you can easily check your ranking in Google for specific keywords through our very easy to use interface. The results are then presented to you in a neat fashion with the use of AJAX.
We also provide a page custom for your site, which makes it easy to use our tool to give your auctions or sale that extra proof that they are worth it!
But instead of reading this, just try it out!
RankPanel.com - Google Ranking Tool
(Ff you wouldn't mind, use any or all of the social bookmarking tools offered on the top of the page to get the site 'out there'!)

The execution is good, but the idea is flawed. Google looks at many factors when positioning results and tailors them to the person searching. This check would show your ranking based on if your server was the one searching Google and the results will not necessarily be the same as if I searched Google. Just like they wouldn't necessarily be the same (when compared to my Google search) if Gatt searched Google.

The only tailoring of search results Google does is based on Geotargetting, which doesn't really apply in this case anyway, given that the probability that the large majority of users would be American, and the server is based in America.

With your logic, that would still make the tool inaccurate for anyone trying to find out where their site would rank for keywords when searched outside of America.
Plus that isn't to go without saying that GeoTargeting goes a lot deeper than just country, so that would limit the audience for this site even further. Not that this site has anything to do with the issue at hand, all tools on the web that offer this service fall under the same issue.
But anyways with that said, good luck, Gille. Your execution of it is much better than most of the others out there

I don't strive to get an exact average
It's more of a central way so - sellers could provide a way to verify that their sites actually rank on that position.
- developers could get a way to really check their ranking (otherwise Google always 'messes' with the results to customize it)

It's good, but I don't think it's accurate

Apart from it already being stated; why do you think so?
