  Old  Duplicate Content within different TLD

Hey Seoexperts!

I was asking me the following situation:

You have a business and you want to have a website in the USA, Canada and UK. For every country you have a different TLD (.us, .ca and .co.uk).

The text and products are the same for every country, you just have some different Prices and Contact informations. Maybe too some special products and special actions for every country.

So what about the duplicate content problem? 80% or more of the text of these websites would be the same.

What is the best that you can do in this case? Is it better to register maybe a .com domain and make some subdomains for every country? (uk.domain.com) or some folders? (domain.com/uk/)

Greetings

You should write unique content for products & services. It would be more beneficial for your all the websites. There is no need to write university kind thesis;

If we talk about a normal business website with some 1000 index sites it would be much more work to write unique content for all countrys (it would be more than 3 countrys). With just one language you need like 10 versions of the same text with the same message. It dont think that this would be possible without having some "stupid" text...

Initially having a duplicate content on different TLD seems good but it's side effect is very awkward. I recommend you to rely on having unique content on each TLD, especially if you have eCommerce sites. Recently many sites had been affected by Google Panda which are not all .coms

If you dont wanna get slapped by google, i would or rather anybody would suggest that go for original and unique content. The duplicate content can harm you any day, and you never know what the next google update does.. It better to be safe than sorry!
