Chris, the idea of a typo is of course to steal other websites traffic and direct it to yours. Not everything in life is fair and sometimes you have to be smarter than your competitors, can't always be straight edge.
I think that typo is pretty worthless though, I mean, that's one really bad spelling of google.com, I can't see it getting any hits tbh.

Also, Google cant take you to court for buying that name. You bought it fair and square.

I'd be amazed if it recieves a significant amount of hits.
If it gets any hits then stick a google adsense search box on it!

I don't think that anyone will spell google that way.. and even if they did.. they would surely notice it and delete the error!

It doesn't matter if it is bought fair and sqaure. Google is a registered name. If google.net was available and I bought it as you say "fair and square" it doesn't mean they can't sue me for purchasing it.

But it costs money to go to court. I don't think google would spend thousands and thousands of dollars to go to court just for a really bad missspelling domain of their brand. If they really had a problem they could just offer him alot less money than what it takes to go to court.

I don't think it would cost them thousands and thousands of dollars, it wouldn't really affect the multi billion dollar company...

Yeh it would. But yeah its only a small fraction but still... would you rather spend thousands or hundreds, without haveing to deal with a bunch of legal situations. Time is also money.
