 vbulletin error on windows
Heya
im trying to install vbulletin on a windows system with php enabled. It appears that it has a path problem when trying to install on the root of the domain, it works fine if i use a sub directory. But i want it on the root :-(
i even asked them before purchasing if it works fine on windows and was told a simple yes. ok it does work but like i said, not on the root.
can anyone help? thanks

yes, but no luck. their support doesnt seem very good. i know its a cheap system but still expect it to be compatible with windows, unless they just want linux users to buy it and then its fair enough.

That result is only if you're using 3.5. You shouldn't have any path issues with 3.0.x series.
By the way... They have great support if you ask correctly and do your research before hand.

vBulletin is known for their excellent support, they won't rest untill the question has been answered.

ok well lets put it this way. i dont expect to pay for something and not get the result.
so instead ive gone to my host, who is sorting it out for me. Now thats great support.

You dont pay for the product, you pay for the support...so why not use it?

Fair enough, your host has access to your files however vBulletin does not. Which means vBulletin has to come up with the solution that you have act out.

i do use the vbulletin support, it just didnt come up with the goods. Anyway...
ok in the end, my host put the vbulletin in a sub folder. and then i installed it there.
then they used the iis to say that the site is held in the subfolder and not the root.
works great.
ive posted this solution in the vbulletin forum to help other windows users who want it in the 'root'
