Old  Background image doesn't get printed out !

If you check this website http://www.hackstavastergard.com/uthyrning.html you will then see that those 3 houres are background images and when I print them, then they aren't visible on the paper! What's only visible is the text and images of the food and the person who is sitting and writing its computer.
Any idéa how I can make it visible in print as well?

There's a plugin for Firefox called Screengrab, which will let you get a screencap of the entire page (including all scrolling). Use that and then print the results.

Sometimes your browser will have an option under advanced options (under Internet Options) that will let you say whether or not to print backgrounds on web pages. The default on this is usually set NOT to print them.

Good advice, Morning - Under Tools, select Internet Options, then Advanced and scroll to Print Options. Select enable and apply and you should be good to go.

Interesting discussion and advice, thanks. But, what if your user is just and average internet user who is not browser savvy? Is it possible to make the background printable for them, regardless of the browser setting?

Yes, depending on the browser. I know in IE6 (and probably for later versions too) if you go to the Advanced options and check printing you can turn on an option which will let you print web page backgrounds. For Firefox, you can do this by going to Page Setup and telling it to print Background Colors. Or, you can print the page to PDF and then print it from your PDF reader or editor.

I'm thinking he is looking for HTML/javascript code in order to force it to print.

If that's the case I don't know of any code that can do that I also don't really think you will want to. Most people don't want to waste printer ink/toner on that.

I'm guessing there's a way to do it though. I know many web pages have printer-friendly versions of their sites. I'm thinking that a person could write one where the background still displays and it can toggled on and off by the user.
