Old  How do you get your site indexed in yahoo and bing?

I have been doing SEO for 6 months now. Just wanted to have some suggestions on how to get your website/s indexed in yahoo and bing. I have tried search engine submissions, ping sites, social media, blogs and articles, etc. but none of them seemed to work. Please help, thanks!

What I have heard about yahoo/bing is that they still give a lot of emphasis on on-page seo. Google on the other hand gives more weightage to off-page seo. So check if your website is well on-page optimized.

Also, search engine submissions does not really help in any way. Social bookmarking, directory submission, articles will help get a site indexed quickly.

Make your on page perfect. One more thing if you can afford to pay then submit your site in yahoo directory, it will fasten your indexing

Can you explain the benefits of paying ANY search engine nowadays to be included in their indexes, especially Yahoo! that holds about 16% market share for all search queries in the United States and less than 3% in the United Kingdom? You can pretty much get into the search engine just by waiting a couple of weeks.

Thanks everyone. I was wondering what was the best way to get indexed. I focused more on off page SEO. I might have to try more on page SEO.

When i created my site i was indexed and ranking on the first page for local search queries within 10 days. I did my homework on how to get it done but if you're trying to get indexed for something vague like "web design" it could takes months or years to see your name on the top of a search engine. I've been up and running since December and I'm not even in the top 100 for "Houston Web Design" just because competition is so rough for that key word. This is why you have to choose less broad keywords but have them so that you know there are going to be pleanty of people searching for that term.

Then you go into social bookmarking... Digg, Del.is.ious, stumbled upon, blah blah blah the list goes on, then write for blogs and get link backs and start getting more visitors to your site and then you're on the train
