Old  Saving time as a freelance programmer.

Hello again! I have another question.

I'm just curious to all the freelance coders/programmers out there, do you custom code everything you write for your clients, or do you take shortcuts (pre-written scripts, Joomla integrations, etc, etc) when you are able? If you are able, please elaborate on when and why you do take shortcuts, and if you don't, why not?

Right now, I imagine taking shortcuts is okay as long as it meets the customers' demands, which is what I figure you all will be telling me. I just want to know, because I know how long it can take to write a script for, say, a photo gallery, when there are thousands of scripts pre-written that will do the job perfectly well.

Thanks again.

Hey, if a mod could please move this to the appropriate section (Programming/Coding), I'd appreciate it. I can't find a way to do it. I apologize!
