Old  What's the best way to increase RSS readers? Twitter followers?

Just wondering on how people go about getting hundreds of RSS readers on their blogs?! I'm struggling with mine and i've been advertising it around quite a few forums and what not...

ALSO

How do people get new followers on Twitter? There isn't any search facility to find like minded people, say with an interest in "Gambling" or "Sports", so how can people who would be interested in my content follow me without visiting my website?!

Cheers all!

People subscribe to websites that have blog posts that interest them. If you don't have anything quality, you won't increase your followers.

As far as Twitter goes, there are a plethora of ways to find users via keywords. All you need to do is find them and then follow them. If your Twitter account shows something valuable to them (eg: interesting tweets, perhaps useful resources, etc) then it'll entice them to follow you back.

And for what it's worth, do not ever auto-dm people that follow you. That's a sure fire way to get blocked.

the best thing for twitter, find someone who's in a community network for the topic your interested in, add all of there friends. Some cases you will add there mum, friend or something off topic. But follow 100 people a day, they will either follow you back or not, then you run a sweeper program that deletes all accounts your following but are not following you back.

Haha, add their mum...a sweeper program, that sounds interesting. What is the purpose of removing them though?

If your ratio of following to followers is high, you are seen as likely to just be a spammer/marketer.

To gain more RSS subscribers, you could write a series of blog posts, and suggest that readers subscribe to the feed to get quick updates.

Post porn on your blog. Don't post full videos. Post a part each day.

Be warned. Don't be surprised when you get a massive SURGE of RSS followers.
