How to install Banner Ad to my forum's main page?

My forum is currently using a theme under the folder smf_famouspadexx009. Which file do I make the edit in? Would I need to edit the .css file? And what about positioning?

it looks like a cms script your website is build on.

instead of editing the php files, you might be able to add a banner or other content through the system instead.

would you mind sharing what cms you are using?
