I'm "that guy" he is referring too. It will only work if the sites you get these from are QUALITY sites. To be a QUALITY site, they must have a constant flow of news and new information added to them. They must be related to your site! Also, they must have spiders crawling them to find your site, etc.

Without the site being a good link to you, it's pointless.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how to you check to see how many PR5, PR6, etc. sites are linking to you? When I just checked backlinks to my site, www.audioxposure.com, Google only showed 11, while MSN showed over 800. I know there are tons more than 11 though, b/c almost every band we've featured this year has linked to their article in at least one place. Right now the site's a PR4, but I'd really like to up that over the next several months. Is there actually a way of doing this kind of check, or would I have to do a general check, and then manually see what PR each site linking to me is? Thanks!

That's a nice stats feature I've never noticed, but it only tells me where people were referred from recently, not everyone who's linking to me, or what each of those sites' PR is. I need to know if there's a way to find that out, w/o having to track down every site linking to me, to check their PR separately. Like, if there's a way to see how "close" your site is to being bumped up a PR or down, so you know what specific types of links you're in the most need of.
