 "It's OK if it's done correctly"??
I recently read a "pros and cons" article about "article spinning". One comment was "it's OK if it's done correctly". Another comment was "it's evil if you're evil". Do you think there's a "correct" way it can be done, or does it just seem "not good"? I'm leaning towards "just seems not good".

I didn't know about this article spinning until recently, but my first impression is that it is indeed evil! It's not okay for me.
I believe in providing quality content, there's already enough low quality content on the internet. Sure it'll take more time, but your visitors will thank you and come back.

I think "no" is the best answer. It's better to go for original content. Writing your own articles may take more work and time, but it's worth it.

No, it wouldn't be not OK even if it's done correctly. There is no point to providing your readers web content they can find on several other webpages.

There are many different ways to look at this.
If it is the creator spinning their own work there is legally nothing wrong with it, unless they sold the content on an exclusive basis.
Other than the creator doing this, it is copyright infringement and there is no good or bad debate.

I would tend to agree with the general consensus here, with the only exception that if you did spin an article that wasn't yours, give credit to who ever wrote the article.

But the problem here is that it is copyright protected, it is a violation of the law, credit given or not.

I do not see the ethical debate, if the author is not bound by exclusivity he/she is free to do as they wish.
If he/she is bound by exclusivity and spins a work that is a breach of contract.
If it is a 3rd party it is copyright infringement.
We can talk about if the laws pertaining to this are ethical, but not if the actions are.
