  Old  Simple Press?

I am a user and a big fan of Wordpress, I even think that it's almost like a religion. But when it comes to developing a forum, Simple Press is not my first choice. As a forum user, I don't really like the forum platform.

Any of you uses the platform to run your forum on? Any feedback from your forum members?

I would personally recommend Vanilla http://vanillaforums.org
Easy to customize and has good integration with other systems (such as wordpress).

(I'm not on the vanilla team, just write plugins for it)

I am also interested in this. What are the popular forums plugins in WP that people use? I was also wondering is there a version of phpBB, vBulletin or other popular forum platform that are suited for WP?

Thanks Immersion for sharing. I have never heard about Vanilla before. I just visited the site and the forum samples. It looks like a good forum platform.

I personally prefer SMF for the time being. I use to be a phpBB2 fanatic.

My favorite is vBulletin, but when it comes to free forum software, SMF is my first choice. I think it's a wonderful forum platform, both for forum owners and users.
