Math Problem, I'm stumped even the teacher is.
Alright here's the Question.
Can you come up with a way to divide 55 tubes of paint into six painter's ( people ) so that an odd number of tubes are in each sack with no tubes left over ?
..
Each person has to have an ODD number of tubes

How can that be possible? It would have to be an odd x an even in the end and every odd x even = even.

The way you typed it made it confusing. You said Six painter's (people) and then later on it talked about dividing them into sacks. So I thought that was a typo for stacks
Answer:
Put 11 tubes in five of the sacks and then put those five sacks into the sixth.

I don't know.
My teacher pulled it out of a book and I guess she didn't print out the answer.
We're all stumped and im determined that there's an answer.

Yes, they have the following: 17, 1, 3, 23, 11.
That totals 55 and are all odd unless i've misread it?

That would work if there were only 5 painters but there are 6 painters
also I had already given the answer up above

Put 11 tubes in five of the sacks and then put those five sacks into the sixth.
