  Old  MacBook Questions

hi guys, I am picking out a mac book to compliment my windows work computer, and at first i had picked out a Pro, but I feel it is more cost-efficient to just to buy a 13-Inch Black and get a RAM upgrade (to a Gig) The only difernce is in Storage Size (I have a 300Gb external), Processor Speed (and extra .16Ghz on the Pro) and screen size (I can live with a 13 inch screen).

My question was if I were to spring for the Black, would it be able to handle Photoshop CS2 while Multi Tasking? (Only with Firefox/Safari and maybe Dreamweaver/Image Ready at times)

Thanks guys

You may want to look here, there is quite a bit more than just what you are saying.

I currently own the 15" Macbook Pro 2.0ghz, but added 2GB of RAM myself. So far, I've haven't experienced one slowdown in my usage time. I can have Dashboard, Firefox, Mail, Camino, Photoshop, iTunes and a Flickr Uploader running and still have room for more. Great machine to do work on.

I am using the lowest model macbook at the moment, and rather than using photoshop I use the original macromedia suite (dreamweaver, fireworks) I can run both of these at once plus other applications (usually safari, mail, adium and itunes) without noticing much difference in the performance of the machine.

They are good machines and very reliable, one thing I would suggest you do if you get a macbook is get a memory upgrade the basic 512mb is alright but its always better if you have that little bit extra to make the machine even more powerful.

Hope that helps.
