Great looking site. Three quick comments:

1) The site "feels" good when you visit it. I think you have found a very nice balance between attracting without overwhelming.

2) I like your ideas about creativity, especially about not trying to hard. It seems like the tension caused by trying inhibits new ideas. Right now I am trying to hard with my own site. :-)

3) One thing that I think can be improved upon is getting the "idea across" in a smaller visual space. I think the eye has to move too much - both horizontally and vertically - in order capture the idea of blog.

I like the simplicity of it. It's clean and I like that.

There is just too much line-height and the text block column seems a little too long. The extra long column makes it hard to read.
