The worst part of a web designers job?

It has to be dealing with frustrating clients, the ones that make you so mad you just want to rip all your hair out, the ones that frustrate you so much that you would rather say "Take the work, forget the payment, just leave me alone!" when I get clients like this, it makes me think twice sometimes....

Granted they do come along once in a blue moon, but once is enough for me. I've recently discovered working with family (as a client) is the WORST thing you can do, they expect everything for free and to v.high standards, plus they except multiple revisions as standard....winds me up

I guess it boils down to the actual lack of respect some clients show for their designer.

What do you think is the worst part of a web designers job?

I would have to agree, bad clients must be the worst part about being a designer. I don't mind doing revisions for client's that know what they are after but It annoys me when the client simply says, "Something is not right, please fix it."

Another bad thing about being a designer is having no clients, luckily I have been very busy recently and everything is going fine.

Well, I havnt had a client yet, but there is this person who I am developing a network with, and he expects me to design a full site for free and in like 2 hours.. so I blocked him.

One thing that really gets to me is clients that just wont get in touch with you. Take the person who was originally buying that blue and green forum skin a resold the other day, he paid a deposit on it and then i spent a month e-mailing, PMing and sending messages to him on AIM and not once in the whole time did he ever respond to me. I think thats really annoying because you just don't know whats happening. . .

Yes, definately bad clients. I actually fired a client once.

Picky clients are the worst, the type that will ask for so many revisions that the design looks nothing like what you started with in the first place. And to make it even worst, when you get a picky client in a different time zone where communication can sometimes be difficult because of time diference, that just makes the matter awful. I don't mind doing revisions, but when some of the changes asked are ridiculous, it just drives me mad and I'd just tell him to take his skin and to leave me alone, nevermind the payment. But I guess that's something you have to deal with in this business.

Clients that don't like to pay, that push it off for as many days as they can.

clients can be so messy to manage :/ which is why i keep a very small client base (heh heh i'm talking as if i can actually get as many clients as i want hahaha)

i have two very reliable clients who usually have some job or the other to do so i'm lucky that way but i dislike taking on new clients simply because it's messy and i hate a mess although i don't seem to mind the state my room is in :/

Along with all the client complaints, keeping up with browsers and latest versions of stuff can also seem overwhelming.

Clients, CLIents, CLIENTS!! Hehe, I've been lucky though, I've only had 2 types:

1. Those that get and run.
2. Those picky ones that need 5000 revisions.

Can't work with them, can't eat without them
