Hello my name is j0sh. I just got photoshop and am very, very confused. I have been tooling around chatwebdev for a while and I am excited to start making some websites. Nice meeting all of you.

PS- do any of you guys know of any places that I can learn how to design websites other than tutorials. I am having a very hard time picking up all of this information.

Welcome aboard j0sh!

To learn photoshop you are best to do a few basic tutorials to learn the basics, how the tools work, layers and various palettes work, then you just have fun by experimenting!
