The squad is pathetic. Wallcott? Not even good enough yet to start for Arsenal but good enough for England? Ahead of Bent whos scored more than any other English player this season? What the hell is going on.
There was ZERO point in naming Rooney as he is NOT going to make it so why not have Defoe and Bent in there somewhere?
Wright-Phillips should of been in the squad no doubt in my mind, he's still as good as he was this time last year despite not playing much, hes played more than Wallcott!
Downing and Hargreaves should not have been in either, they should of been back-ups at best.
Not happy with the selection at all to be honest but lets see what happens.

My first instinct was "What an idiot" but now I aren't as annoyed... Lets just wait and see what happens.

Yeah thats how I feel, I feel sorry for the likes of Darren Bent though who really deserve a place in the squad but not being called up because a 17 year old thats never played a premiership game has been called up instead.

I wouldn't say that, Crouch is a big useless lump that can apparently "hold the ball up well" whereas Bent is a speedy runner that likes to run onto the sort of knock-ons that Crouch is supposed to provide and then finish off the job.
Bent is a finisher something England wont have in the team if Owen ends up to be unfit.

Hargreaves shouldn't be anywhere near the squad, he's so average it's daft. Only reason he's there is because he plays on the Continent, if he played for a Premiership club he wouldn't have been picked.

Wright-Phillips should be in there! his by far more creative then most other players (apart for joe cole). Bit of a low blow that.

I think it's just a tad ridiculous.
Walcott over bent, to play in the world cup without playing a Premiership game? NO Ledley king, no wright phillips, two injured strikers?
Tut tut Sven.
