I have my own blog and read a number of them daily. They deal mainly with personal finance and money. It's an area that I'm passionate about and hope to become a financial counselor in the next year or two, because it's such a crucial part of people's lives.

I have my own blog, and I read all the ones in my blogroll whenever they are updated. It's very hard to update my own now that college has started - it used to be once or twice a week but now once a month at a struggle.

Looking at the replies in here it seems that blogging is not that big a deal anymore. Is the blog "thing" dying, or still growing?

I think that alot of personal blogs will die, by personal I mean blogs without a specific topic other than "my life"

i dont think blogging was ever that big. there's certainly a niche but i think the average internet user could care less.

I find it really interesting how people can read other peoples personal blogs, is it like watching a television soap that you get right into, or something?

I think subject blogs are growing but personal blogs are dying out.

Blogs are great for following the progress of some specific with user input but beyond that they can be pretty pointless.

I've got a blog I try and update at least 5 times a week.

The only blog I read on a regular basis is the Matt Cutts one. I think he dispels one or two myths about SEO
