Well, get either DreamWeaver (The new version ) or frontpage. Notepad is definetly not for you. That is very hard. I suggest you start learning xhtml. http://www.w3schools.com/ has nice tutorials.

Dray, notepad is actually the best tool for any beginner to use

Mike, if you want to understand the basics of designing websites and making them functional, i strongly urge you to take up the use of your somewhat basic program called Notepad in windows, and visit www.htmlgoodies.com and start reading the HTML primers

It's a perfect place to start!

How's notepad easy to use? While he tries to figure out what needs to be typed, he'd rather have DW or frontpage do most of the source code for him while he learns how it all works before he actually starts writing source code from top to bottom.

Another great site which I learned from several years ago is http://www.lissaexplains.com/basics.shtml

It is aimed at children but it's where I learned. I think we all need to learn this way to get a full understanding of coding. Dreamweaver and the likes eventually hold you back from understanding code. That site above has almost everything you'll need to know and is in a really easy to learn format.

I don't agree with notepad for a beginner, if you're trying to learn you should start with a program that will actually be able to offer some feedback/help! I suggest dreamweaver and a good book

I mean, did you really start off using notepad Anthony?
