  Old  Screencast Tutorials

Hey everyone. Been a while since I posted here but looking for some opinions. I have just finished the HTML/CSS for the main pages of my latest website. Looking for your opinions/advice in regards to the design and also any specific tutorials your want to request.

Can view the design on the main domain, there are only 3 pages however. Index, archive and single. The filters and layout changer should work on archive.

http://screencasttutorials.com

Once I am settled on the design I will code it into WordPress with some basic ajax effects then move onto creating content.

Beautiful work. Nice and clean.

However, the floating "add your comment" form goes over the footer links if I scroll down to the bottom:
http://screencasttutorials.com/single.html

Is there any way to make it stop by last comment and prevent the breach into the footer space?

Thanks for the comments and for pointing that out. I should be able to fix that yes, was using my main monitor when coding so didn't notice due to the size of it.

Thanks for the kind words. Design is probably however my weakest skills, mainly due to lack of artistic talent

I have the majority of functionality working but still need to work a few things out. If you are interested in helping me out with bug testing please post in here. I will give you lifetime membership to the website for doing so. It will probably be a few days until its ready for testing at which time I will post in here.

Okay, I think the actual website is almost there. I just need to iron out any bugs and then get on to creating all the content. If anyone can help out just by browsing around the website, signing up, joining newsletter, checking various links where possible I will keep you on the subscribe list (bump up to premium without fees) for when the website is actually live.

A few features to note:
  • Ajax front page login
  • Modal popup login
  • Modal popup newsletter
  • Quick sand category filter
  • Layout changer on archive pages
  • Front page video scroll and auto hide on end (next to sign up link)
  • Related videos using tags
  • Add comment scroll
  • Custom styled javascript alerts for errors.
  • Embed youtube videos in comments
  • Custom appearance on emails/newsletter signups etc
  • jQuery scroll to for moving between anchors (eg to top of page or written article link on single page)
  • Popular videos by comments
  • Ajax contact form
  • Download php handles file downloads (redirects to another page and gives link)
  • Premium membership to view non-free videos (amazon hosted with expiring links)
  • Easy to read visual sitemap
  • Mobily blocks for the social share effect on articles

Also what do you guys think of the video on the homepage (click video of features link next to sign up button, will auto hide on end) and the intro, lower thirds on the tutorial?

PS. Thats not me talking in the screencast, its just taken off youtube as a demonstration to add the intro, outro and lower third to.

Hey all, I have been working the last few days on a couple easy/simple tutorials. Just trying to get used to the process. If you give some feedback on the couple I have made please. Sometimes the Scottish accent can't help but kick in. Also a lot more fiddly than I had anticipated.

Intro Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2Ssj5gdgSI
Nav Tut Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3FiSGOjhdQ
Nav Tut Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjHmRb2KBes

PS, these videos are not released to the general public yet, the download and videos will be properly released on the website in a bit.
