Old  This* - A Change to our Pricing

I bet those of you reading this right now are sweating profusely at the possibility that your hosting package may become more expensive. For this, I apologise, but allow me to ease that anxiety right now and state that we are NOT increasing prices. Actually, we’re slashing them…. quite substantially in some cases.

Business has been pretty good for us, and in a bid to become even more competitive we’ve decided to reduce our prices accordingly. On with the numbers:

Starter/Blog package is being reduced from $4.99/month to $2.99/month
Standard package is being reduced from $8.99/month to $5.99/month
Medium package is being reduced from $15.99/month to $9.99/month
Large package is being reduced from $24.99/month to $14.99/month
Ultra package is being reduced from $32.99/month to $19.99/month

How do you like those numbers? We love ‘em

We’ve tried to cancel all PayPal subscriptions to us to ensure that people don’t accidentally pay the old prices, but we may have missed some. Please, please, please login to your PayPal account and check that any subscriptions to us are cancelled. Once you receive your next invoice (with the new pricing on) please create a new subscription if you wish to pay automatically every month.

Please be advised that this price change only affects those who pay monthly and with no recurring discounts already applied to their package. If you’ve paid for a year in advance, regrettably we will not be refunding you the difference. As a gesture of goodwill, though, we’re more than happy to add some free hosting to your account if you get in touch with us. This reduction also does not (currently *wink wink*) apply to reseller addons, nor dedicated IP addresses.

Please Help us Out

We’re still a relatively unknown host, despite how happy our customers are with us, and we could always do with some more exposure. If you’re happy with these changes and want to help spread the word about this* and how awesome we are (and we are, right?) then please take a minute of your time to Tweet about us, post on the forums you visit about us, or even write a hosting review about us on some of the host review websites out there.

So please, spread the word about this*!

I'm not sure that it's wise to put "Want to sell us some viagra? Jules could certainly use some" - http://www.thiswebhost.com/contact.php

It just makes me think that you're a bunch of kids running a server in their basement. I agree that it's good to put forward a fun motif, but maybe this is stepping the line?

Lol I found it pretty funny :P
But yeah, it's not something you should put on your professional website..

I disagree, it's precisely something you should put on your professional website. A commentary on the use of contact forms by automated systems, an in-joke aimed at a member of the company, good stuff. It's far better than "contact form: this is where you type something, click a button and we read it".

Also, good move on the pricing scale. Cheaper is always better.

It's sad that business is good enough for us to be able to drop the pricing for our customers? Please explain.

As for the comments about the contact page, we've actually had around 10 e-mails or so from people saying they found it amusing, and it's nice to see such a laid back approach to business. Those people also went on to become clients of ours. Unfortunately, a sense of humour isn't included with our packages

The image on the contact page regarding viagra, people may find it funny. But members of companies or people in general would probably be like "who the hell is jules? These people are weird, lets go somewhere else."
