Old  High Performance PHP Paging Script?

I am working on a project (a hobby project), that requires near real time performance. Everything is executing fast, except for the paging script. I pushed the performance as hard as I can handle, and I am getting really frustrated. Does anyone know of a fast running script? What are your experiences in the speed of languages like python or go compared to php?

Village Genius will become famous soon enough

Can we see the code that is bottlenecking?

Python, like PHP, is rather slow because it's a script. You won't find anything faster by switching to a different scripting language.

I beg to argue that Python is some cases can be advantageous over PHP as far as speed goes. It really depends on needs to be accomplished. Then again, like "Genius" mentioned, we would need to see your code.
