Old  Fate / Destiny - For You?

This is a topic of many heated debates between historians and spiritualists...however I thought I'd bring it to the public among the forums to get your views and opinions.

Question Posed : Do you believe in fate or destiny?

My Answer : Yes and No. I remember watching my favourite film (The Butterfly Effect) which focused on something called 'The Chaos Theory'. It basically revolves around the idea that a choice you make one moment, leads to the choices you have in the next. It's a chain reaction so to speak.

While not believing in destiny, I believe in fate. In my eyes they are different, I believe that through fulfilling your own destiny (by making you own choices) you are creating your fate (it makes sense, read into it).

One thing that I hate to believe and refuse to in the same way, is the idea that we aren't in control of our own lives, and that we may be puppets on chronolical strings!

Thats my answer and my views, what's yours?
