My first steps...
Okay, I had someone on the forums "pretend" like they were a client and tell me what type of banner to make them so I could get better at advertising banners. This is a design I thought up on my own, so I didn't try to copy the layout of anything I saw. What do you guys think of my first real professional banner?

Yeah, I know. I was thinking about changing the animation and making the click here blink or something.

Like i said on aim....the fonts are very standard, the animation is confuesing and not relevent....e.g it does not attract my attention to the banner but simply puts me off! The colours are very "plain", consider gradients, textures....perhaps an image of a person? Overall for your first banner it is a very solid attempt. Keep it up.

Try using more than just two colors. And like robson said, use gradients, textures, etc. to help make it look more appealing.
