unfair competition?
organized companies are taking over the market of freelancing.
and i saw a lot of offers were the prices are going down to $5.00 an hour.
In the states where i live We charge a minimum of $45.00.
so all those good jobs are going away...what I am going to do next...selling drugs or maybe make porn sites?
what can we do about it?
Should we organize and defend our turf?
i looked over the forum and i did not see any questions about ethics
Is there no more rules?,
aren't we in this together?
paul.

whinge (hwĭnj, wĭnj) pronunciation
intr.v. Chiefly British., whinged, whing·ing, whing·es.
To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.
[Dialectal alteration of Middle English whinsen, from Old English hwinsian.]

may be unfair, but thats life and thats business. it's competition, there's no law against having low prices.

Is this all you can go on about you "starving" and complaining about prices? I aggree, prices are getting lower and lower but whining about it isn't going to do anyone any good.

you guys are the negative one ...talking solutions
you do not have anything to say when you are hidding under masks and not stating who you are bunch of kids ,whith no experience, with no family to support, no responsabilities
so you guys are negative because you do not have opinions.
may be unfair, but thats life and thats business. it's competition, there's no law against having low prices. well actualy you are wrong competition is good , unfair competition kills business. and yes their is something to be done about it.
get up stand up for your rights.
but you guys dont care because mam and dad are paying the bills! or for other reasons obviously you dont care and only have to offer is negativism. what are you bringing to the table? stop whinging!

There's not much you can do about it, offer quality and a great service - stand out from the crowd - and hope for the best.

Infact it is illegal to put prices whatever you want. Its called unfair competition. The reason why nothing is done is because most freelance designers are not registered which means you can't complain.

You are right about the fact that most do not have families to support, but then again what makes you think you can support a family offering freelance design work or trying to sell your paintings? My suggestion to you would be to get a real job if you do not already have one. Do not rely on freelance work to pay the bills, think of it as a pastime that will generate a small amount of income or "Pocket Money"; Not as your sole source of the green stuff.
