Old  ATTN: All High School Juniors/Senior - Read This

Hey everyone,

I need to take another little poll for a project I'm working on for my design program at college. Right now we are working on a set of ecards to send to prospective incoming students (mostly high school seniors and juniors, but also a small number of transfer students).

What is something you can think of that you would receive in your inbox, that would grab your attention and say - "that's awesome, I want to go there and do something like that...". We plan on sending these monthly so there will be 12 in total - they can all be related or run in a series together, or they can be totally separate.

Are only limitation is that it needs to be very quick and easy to understand - much like a billboard. The ecards are not meant to educate you in detail about the program (they have other printed material they can send for that), but rather just give you a quick little snippet so that our name starts to get stuck in your head and you look forward to next months email. So most likely they will be pretty graphical with very little text (although text can be used as a graphic ).

Any ideas come to mind on what you would like to get, or would want to know? Our group has been having a hard trouble coming up with something that isn't boring, that is simple to understand, and still says something about our program.

Let me know what you guys think

Thanks a lot,
Mike

So just something that is visually attractive? soemthing cool to look at? remember this is an ecard, so it would be digital - and it doesn't hold any real ammount of info - just a sentence or two at most.

How about wallpaper, if it looked 'cool' would you be interested in downloading a wallpaper version to put on your desktop?

Thanks,
Mike

Anything that comes from a College is a broad attempt to be 'cool' imho, its a college after all.

I would think that Design would take a back seat in this one, and that easy to read, strong, information with pictures would be best.

first of all, if it's a school for design, it has to show that they are "masters" of design. Why would anyone want to go to a school that they are better skilled than? we go to school to learn what we don't know already (or so they say).
example for a graphic filled ad that I liked and saw in the city, http://www.gawker.com/news/art/how-b...ood-188967.php

another thing i want to see are courses available and maybe testemonials of kids who went there and got a job at so and so place... that would encourage me to attend that school

I am a junior:
I like to see something that is very simple yet funky. like if you have a white postcard with some abstract peice of art in the middle and then it says graphic arts schooll...i would be like i guess they really not what they are doing there

I hate ads that are boring and generic. it needs color and fun.

Like something partyer and still like a little timeline on the card, showing them the future.
