In my opinion, spelling correctly is a must, though having said this, many countries spell words differently. Take for instance the US English and the UK English, there are many words that are spelt different. For instance: favor/favour color/colour.

So when spotting spelling mistakes we should all take this into consideration.

I was doing a little research and surfing yesterday. I was reading a "how to" piece. There were a few words spelled incorrectly, and to me, that detracted from the credibility of the message.

While I agree with you that translation programs aren't the best, your comment is also grammatically incorrect. I break all kinds of rules when I write, most of the time on purpose. While I look for sites to have professionally written content, no one is perfect. That's why they put erasers on pencils.
