You don't see how viewing all recent information on one page versus 9 different websites is useful?

Surely its only useful if all your friends are using the site, viewing your own information seems a bit trivial.

Well Immersion, the idea is to link to Sociast in a signature, blog, etc instead of all 9 profiles.
See my sig? You click that an get all of my social information including the songs I've recently played. Now tell me getting all this information on one page isn't useful.

okay, guess that may appeal to someone else. For me i couldn't care less what someone has been listening to or their latest flickr picture. For me all that information just isn't useful in the slightest, let alone having it all on one page. Well good luck with the site, just not for me i guess. :P

Agreed.
@ Vizon
The website is loading extremely slow for me.
I would suggest to add a lot more features, because as of now it looks VERY simplistic for something that was probably in development for months. The site just looks like a web page with a bunch of RSS Feeds/Feeds onto one page to be honest.
Best of luck..

I'd prefer to get comments from those whom are registered, only. We've had suggestion of things that already exists, etc. So, unless you've experienced what Sociast has to offer/ does, please don't comment.
@Amaze, I think we are close to 14k lines of code. You are looking at the profile page, you're also not seeing the other features of the site.

Well, um.. I suggest you edit your first post or make a demonstration video to showcase the features.
How can you possibly advertise a website, and say I must be registered to experience what Sociast can really do, is that a proper advertising technique?
Error message:
Profile Not Found
Whoops! This profile doesn't seem to exist.
|
Got this error after the registration form was completed, and was redirected to a page that said this.

15374 lines of code in the whole project. 5022 of them are Facebook's client library, which I use in Facebook auth negotiation but not for fetching profile information. The remaining 10352 are all mine, plus your stylesheets.
(To clarify this is a linecount on all text files with extensions we use, so the HTML source is included in that number)
The site does not scrape any RSS feeds. I exclusively use REST or similar APIs. MySpace and Facebook are on basically the same system except I have separate sets of code for maintaining authentication.
Re: Speed; The current scheme is to grab cached account data, or if the cache is too old (a setting that varies by service), then grab it fresh on page load. The APIs are turning out to not be fast enough to support this so odds are I will be putting API fetching on a cronjob and loading exclusively from DB cache in a future update. This will also make friend feeds possible.
Ignore that last thing.

Sorry for double post..
But since I am now a registered a user, I can revert back to what I originally said.
Not to seem rude, but that little paragraph I have above basically sums up everything Sociast can do, besides for the friends thing and the signature generator.
