  Old  Question: Flash design

Hi guys, it's been a while since I've been designing and I've just recently got back into the game! I'm playing around with flash right now and was just wondering how you guys make your design? Do you do it in flash or with a more advanced program like photoshop, and somehow import it into flash?
I would love to start a full flash portfolio site! Thanks in advance.

Usually you can make what ever you want in photoshop, import it into flash and put the pieces together and make your flash work.

you shouldn't use photoshop over a vector program.

Actually as long as you don't resize the images the photoshop makes inside of a vector program like flash. It would look fine. Just make your design, slice the images, and add effects and motion tweenes as well as alphas and test.

bitmaps inside flash look terrible. always. not to mention they bloat the movie considerably, and but horrible limitations on animation. i don't see an upside to using photoshop over illustrator in any case.

I really like doing work in photoshop and then integrating it into my flash.

Start in flash, finish in flash. Although the CS3 suite has made it much easier to drag stuff in straight from Illustrator and Photoshop.

yeah but flash has really weak drawing tools compared to illustrator. and for pre-cs3 you can just export as swf.
