I read an article once, it's advice was to create a list of every different type of site you can think. Completely ignore the first 10-20 you wrote down because they'll all most likely be done to death and generally bad ideas then go through whatever ideas are left after that and try to figure out which of the sites would be the most successful.
As you have no ideas at all never mind 20 I think the best thing for you to do is stop thinking so big (for now). Think about things that interest you, things your knowledgeable in, things you know that maybe not everyone else knows. Think about these subjects and then see what you can come up with.
Don't create a proxy.

You can add image hosting to that list.

Dude, here's the bottom line: think of **** yourself and stop asking people for ideas. How do you think large sites are made?
Btw, why are you even thinking about making an RSS site?

What kind of site would you liked to have seen on the web before you became a web designer/developer? I asked myself that and came up with a semi-unique idea with great audience base and potential for huge success.

Really just dont try and force your self to think of something..it will come to you while your doing the most random thing...but here is my idea
a porn site that is 100% free and have all the memberships and stuff for other porn sites and put there content on your site....idk if it would be a good idea but i would be an active visitor!!

I would like to see something like dmoz.org that actually worked all the time. I don't know if this helps you any or not, but it is something that I would like to see.
