The problem is that here in the US, getting those UK based magezines are quite pricey (to subscribe it's like $100+ a year)

I've picked up a few and they're nice, but way to expensive for just a magezine.

I will try to find some of those at Barns and Noble. Do you guys have any specific titles or authors to look for?

There are plenty of awesome web design books out there, but these are my favorites, in no specific order:

Don't Make Me Think: a common sense approach to web usability, Second Edition by Steve Krug
CSS Hacks & Filters by Joseph Lowery
Branding by Helen Vaid
HTML Utopia: Designing Without Tables Using CSS by Dan Shafer
Homepage Usability: 50 Websites Deconstructed by Jakob Nielsen

Keep in mind that any book by Krug or Nielsen is great and worth a read

I just got The Zen Of CSS Design and I highly reccomend it. It focuses on site arrangement incorperated with css, I highly reccomend it. It's by Dave Shea who did www.csszengarden.com
