Just going a little bit OT from the death penalty but does anyone think laws in UK are too leniet in these circumstances? Personally i think its a disgrace, the person who killed my cousin has been sentenced to 8 years in jail and we all know no one ever does a full sentance what is 8years in jail compared to taking away a full life? pretty stupid imo

I disagree with the 'Death Penalty' completely. Its just not right. Not only is it in-humane, its giving the arreste an easy way out. If we put him in an instituion for a few.. (50 cough!) years.. it's alot higher punishment, then sentecing them to death, and letting them get away from their sorrows and guilt. If you've ever seen 'The Shawshank Redemption', its alot higher penatly being locked up for years, rather then being 'put to sleep'...

I was just about to say that. Regardless of whether they are a police officer or not, a human life is a human life.

Bazza, the 8 year sentence, that's just sick. To be honest I think it should be atleast 20 years or so. Best wishes to you and your family, with the loss of your cousin. He will always be looking down on you, and making sure you are safe.

Hey everyone,

Well the decision on this issue is hard to make but at the end you gotta have something to say. I agree with the death penalty under these circumestances: 1- If the criminal made the crime without being under pressure 2. If the criminal did the crime without being under any drugs ( medicine or alchohol). But if the killer or whatever was under pressure or something I think he should be in jail forever as Robson said... and as robson said in another thread *People have reasons*

I don;t think it would be allowed. Someone should have to suffer in jail rather then watch liquids pour in to their body killing them.

tbh i agree with it, you do the crime you do the time, if someone kills 2 people why should the killer be allowed to live? even if it is a sell, he still gets free food free water, while the family get landed with two dead people and £10,000 in funeral bills and yet there taxes are funding the prisons, if hes good he wont do the full term, hell get out, join some rehab program, get a job, and a flat to get him off the groudn

wheres the justice that?
