Not bad, he probably could have done it, had he not been in the water for 7 days prior or whatever.....he must have been pretty messed up mentally/physically.

Yea i'm sure if he just tried to hold his breath regularly in water without being in it for 7 days he could have easly made it. Also if he didn't have the chains on him I would have made it for sure. Given that he probably used most of his energy trying to get them off. And that even he should have been preserving.

What he failed? I expected him to do it. That guy is a cheat i think, but I expected him to successfully cheat.

How are you supposed to cheat holding your breath?

I watched the whole thing, from 8 to 10. David Blaine is the most fantastic street magician there. By 'magician' I mean he has the wildest illusions out there. If you're amazed at coins disappearing and cards changing color, David Blaine can do things that are 30x more visual, up-close, right-in-your-face magic. The thing with the girl's teeth was greusome, but a perfect example of the fact that David's capable of ANYTHING he puts his mind to. The Navy SEAL's training that he went through was very grueling, and he prepared for this hard. He faled by a minute. Now, when you hold a breath for more than 2 minutes, every second counts, and what he did was amazing. Although I believe that the show was spiced up with doctors making claims tha the won't make it, that he's very ill, etc. just to make it sound more exciting. This is probably true, as it is a great way for more publicity. But the fact that he actually spent 176 hours in a water ball with no food is amazing.

P.S.: could've been better if he was locked in chains throughtout the whole week, eh?
