Colour scrollbars? Another fad dead?

I stopped using colored scrollbars also, I did used them before, & some of my older websites do have them still, but all newer ones don't have it, biggest reason: I try to get valid css/html.

Using a dynamic scripting language, you can make the CSS dynamic and spit different versions depending on the browser/validator:

I can tell you how it works if you're interested but I advise against using CSS scrollbars because they are not a good move accessibility wise plus it's a propriety feature.

Coloured scrollbars are so 1990. I would definitely advise against them.

i liked them in certain situations.

my latest design *would* make use of them if it would work in all browsers to allow for a scrollable area -- i don't want the page being all sortsof different heights -- but i expect a large vistor ratio to be FF viewers since it's more of a personal website than business, so the bright grey on yellow just ruins it.

I use to love them, but don't really use them anymore.
