  Old  domain name for life

*******.com offers a free domain name for life in their shared hosting service. Think that offer seems reliable for me and I'd like to use it.
Have you ever used it?

*******.com is a professional hosting provider, which doesn't appear to cheat people about domain names. If it is offered it is granted, doubtless.

Also, similar options are offered by ********** - the free domain for life and excellent renewal options. Take a look as an alternative solution.

I presume it's only for life, if you continue hosting with them for life.

Not at all, as long as you are hosted domain remains free, but it continues to belong to you even when you migrate.

I can't really say a lot about the host itself, but what makes a free domain a unique feature about a host's offer? I mean it's something which nearly every hosting country includes.

Sometimes hosts are not very hoest about domains, they can give you a name, but only for temporary use, until you are hosted with. Not possible to sell or to tranfer it. It is needed to pay attention towards the TOS about this.
Here is trhe abstract from **********.com:

Marble Host offers free domain name registration. You will get a free domain with any web hosting plan! The domain is registered in your name; you are its owner and have complete control over it. When you sign up, we will register your domain name for 1 year. A free domain name is offered for all our clients who purchase any web hosting plan.
And here is the indirect notice from *********.com:

If we register a domain name for you as part of your hosting package with us, and you decide that you want to cancel your account during the first 30 days, then we will deduct the cost of the domain name from the money we refund you. We charge $12.95 per year for domain registration.
So, this may only mean, that you can get a domain for absolutely free, from hosting provider, and it will become paid when you are not hosted anymore.

As far as I am concerned, domain name is something we should control. Getting a free domain seems to be the best idea but actually it is not especially if the domain name is registered under the hosting company and not the end user.

I used the free domain services of ********* and can say this is the honest venture. Everything depends on a certain webhosting provider, I suppose.
