Now do I call myself a "freelance Graphics Designer" as a title on resumes and portfolio even if I were unpaid on most of my works? I don't collect taxes and not an owned business either, no contracts just works cited. Works done for family and friends and other people as well.
Is it justifiable for the title when I go over interviews on a real job? Just don't want to make a mockery of myself. I need advice on this.
Hi Paul, welcome to the site! It is a very nice introduction and yes, I don't see why you cannot call yourself a freelance designer officially and on your resume. A lot of designers I know had to earn recognition at the early stages offering free service, in order to build their portfolio, so it is a normal cycle in the career path you picked.
