um theory, the forum skin is already designed as Bazza` said. Also, one of my friends did all that for me in about 3 hours for free well, at least the:

# VB Forum Skin
# Website coded into css, to work in all browsers

If you know the program/language well, you'd be amazed how fast you can get some stuff done.

I can't see why people try to push validation onto others. Take a look at Google's page. Looks great in most browsers, yet it's nowhere near valid. I'd say it's far more important to code to your own validation rules than to copy anothers. The W3C is intended as a guideline. When I create pages, I always follow the client through page validation.

i'm well aware how fast things can get done. all the more reason to work for more than $1 an hour.

For everything I do design wise, it all depends on what's needed by the client, and now extensive it is.

If they want a simple vB design, I've been it as low as $35. But if they want a full blown vB design, its much more (to me, it has a degree in how extensive they want it - and the pricing that goes along with it).

Well, I guess I'm sorta different in term of charging from everyone here. I charge by hour...

HTML - $25 - $35 an hour
XHTML & CSS (transitional or strick) - $35 - $45 an hour
PHP, ASP, or JAVA - $50 or more an hour

VB3 - $50 an hour
CMS (include ADMIN Skinning) - $75 an hour
