What is the difference?
Ok I am only 15 and do not know much about the business world. All I want to know is what is the difference between "freelancing" and setting up a web design company?

Ok thanks, but don't a lot of people setup a design company on there own. Perhaps I should start freelancing then.

Most of those so called "companies" are in fact bedroom managed businesses and are not really companies, more like freelancing. At your age, I'd say start by doing some freelance work first.

Do freelance, but not online. You'll kill yourself after two months of working for 15 year olds and their high-paying jobs ($50 for a full site).
Put together a portfolio, get some business cards, pass them, contact potential customers with your proposal, and get ready to deal with the big N-O.

In my personal opinion, I think you should become more comfortable with whatever programs you happen to be using before looking for clients. But yes, Freelance and work when it pleases you .
