I prefer HTML over XHTML as I bet 99% of the people who use XHTML don't even use it's extended capabilities. I'm just used to coding XHTML now because so many people request it.

If you aren't going to use the XML side of it, stick with regular HTML 4.01.

Also, you are wrong. IE6 and even IE7 I believe don't fully comply with XHTML standards (the XML side of it). If you have something to suggest otherwise, please let me know.
