Technically, the ability to edit some of the vectors hear-after in PS is lacking compaired to fireworks, however you can create most anything that Fireworks offers in PS(or PS's counterpart, Illustrator.). Fireworks on the other hand can not mimic most of the bitmap abilities that PS offers.

I did not say the same product, what I said was the same type of websites can be created. Both programs can be used to create nice professional websites, which is what a lot of us here do. In the end it comes down to personal preferance.
