i have only used notepad when i was learning some PHP stuff or following some type of tutorial. i use dreamweaver, but most of the stuff i do in dreamweaver is typed, it makes things easier with the autocompletion stuff such as when you start to type <d it puts <div></div> etc. plus having features such as search and replace, code formatting, etc makes dreamweaver even nicer if you care what your code looks like
