I have actually been learning to make iPhone/iPad apps. You need really someone who has experience in iPhone apps before to be honest. Even though it uses ObjC (a superset of C) and Cocoa and other frameworks, there are also methods in creating apps that are specific to the iPhone OS.
There are a few good courses out there, but if you have a mac, I'd download the SDK tools etc from the Apple Dev Area and have a play around
