Ways of bringing in more traffic

Some of you may or may not know of my site http://imguppy.com/

I've been pretty successful with everything on it so far, usually bringing about 300 unique visitors a day, and averaging a few hundred uploads a day. However, I'm trying to move it to a much larger scale.

What are ways of bringing more traffic to this already diluted industry?

One way to get attention is to get your site mentioned on a well-known blog. Makeuseof always has time for sites offering familiar services. Also, try and get a Facebook page and get your users to like it. Those are two ways right there.

What kind of facebook page would be ideal for an image hosting site? It's not really a business per say.

I think he means building backlinks, try and find link exchanges with high PR websites. There are always people on sites like Talkfreelance or Digital Point who are seeking link exchanges.

I guess you should probably be knowing this and I have a feeling this is how you get the visitors -

Join forums where most of it has to do with images. Then upload images using your image host. As and when people like the images you upload they will get a feel for your site as well.
